This place is a hidden gem of Florida. There's something for everyone. Rope swings, floating rafts, water slides, jumping docks, log roll, hammocks, karaoke, river float, and more! This is a private residence that was opened to the public by the owner. There is a fee to get in (currently $25 per car up to 4 persons, $35 per car up to 6 persons), but it's well worth it the price. There are no trash cans, so be prepared to take home what you brought in. There are no lifeguards and no cell phone coverage. It's definitely a swim at your own risk kind of place. But as I said, definitely worth it!
This place is WILD! Finally a place that has rules that are little to none! My friends and I grew up on lakes and rivers always looking to go bigger and higher. From rope swings to water slides as well as mud volleyball. Well worth the money to park! I could spend any day here all day. Grillin' and chillin'.
Bob may be a nice gentleman and have an interest in seeing young people have a good time on his property, but the activities are dangerous and no real efforts to advise or enforce any safety rules or instruction are in place. It has the appearance of being a fun place for kids and on a summer weekend there are hundreds. We had only been there for one hour before my girlfriend slipped down a rope swing and broke her heel. This occurred in July and after surgery, was restricted from putting any weight on the foot for 12 weeks. She has 7 screws and plate in her foot and experienced the most excruciating pain I have ever witnessed. She will have permanent damage with some degree of ongoing pain for the rest of her life. I was unaware of the number of serious injuries and 4 deaths in 4 years that have occurred here. I spoke to Bob, before the injury occurred. He actually told us that there have been no injuries at Bob's Place, so he clearly has no concern for the wellbeing of the thousands of people that pay $35/ car to park at his place. I am still trying to understand the legal loop hole under which he says he is protected from any liability. The fact is that he has a place on his property that he operates for profit which allows people to participate in potentially hazardous activities that he has created with no safety provisions. He hires a few teen-agers to somewhat control the lines of people waiting to jump off a tree limb or jump off the rope swing. I saw 3-4 close calls of people going off and almost landing on top of someone in the water. Bob sits there with a megaphone to call out to kids when more than one at a time climbs out on a tree limb 30 feet over the ground to jump in the water. This is the extent of the safety precaution he employs. My girlfriend was given no instruction of what to do by the person handing her the rope. She subsequently jumped off holding the rope with her hands only, which she could not support herself. Obviously not so smart, but could have been prevented with some safety guidance on what to do. Shame on the county government, If this situation is allowed to exist without any regulation. I do plan to investigate further why this continues to go on with impunity.
I had my son's 12th birthday party here. We all had so much fun. The staff was awesome and very helpful when one of our friends got stuck in the mud. They were able to assist in pulling her out. The grounds were clean. We enjoyed so many hours of water fun. I personally enjoyed this more than any concrete water park I've ever been to. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. We will be back for sure!
Really enjoyable for a family outing. Great for the smaller children. They have an area off the river with River water flowing into it so no worries about the river current. Plenty things to do. We had a great time!
